|A few words about yourself.
|Darren is a surfer, windsurfer and paddle surfer. Darren started Quiver Windsurfing and Quiver Paddleboard Centres for two reasons, to put something back into the sport, and as a legacy, as something to hand to his children.
Darren would rather be windsurfing over anything else, but if the conditions aren’t right on the waves he surf-style skating, rock climbing, skydiving and dirt bike jumping. He is passionate about all his activities and includes his children Roxy & Finley in all of them.
|What makes your ride?
|The feeling of being free, in an environment in which I feel happy and at peace, enjoying the wind and waves.
|How much do you love to windsurf?
|It’s a massive part of my life, from a young age watching my dad windsurf, feeling desperate to get to a level where I could be in the foot straps and jump, to seeing my own kids enjoying windsurfing. Windsurfing is so important to me, it’s also a driving force for my fitness, and healthy lifestyle.
|What is your most memorable session?
|The most memorable session to date would be the 2019 team rider meeting with all the other riders, we had a whole week of incredible conditions on the waves and I even got to bring my bro Mark Seaney. Hoping to bring my son, Finley, to the next one.
|What inspires you?
|After working the last 8 years on the ambulance, it inspires me to make the most out of everything, especially my time on the water. I highly value time, my friends and family.
|Describe your gear and the conditions you use it in.
|My boards and sails are predomently wave sailing. I’m a massive fan of the Banzai. My sizes include 4.2, 4.7, 5.0 and 5.3, with my Goya Custom Wave 4 Pro 84, and 89.
|What does riding for Goya mean to you?
|Goya means quality well-designed products with positive ethics, with an amazing team behind the brand which feels like good friends. Most of all, at the heart of the brand, is how humble Francisco Goya is.
